Open client coverage
In Clients press Client coverage. The count of Unassigned clients sits beside it when there are any. The page shows the firm's figures, your My clients table and the Team workload table, with the clients nobody has taken at the top.
Assign the client
Click the client on the Nobody row, or Assign the first client if nothing has been assigned yet. Choose who prepares the books and who reviews them, add a Note on the engagement if you like (only the firm sees it), then press Save the assignment.
The reviewer can never be the preparer. The note is cleared when the client is handed to someone else. Assigning needs the owner role or every permission in that client's books.
Keep assignment and access apart
An assignment says who follows a client; it does not open the books. Access comes from a membership in that client's books. A 🔒 beside a colleague means they are responsible for a client they cannot open. The fix is to invite them from the People tab in that client's books. Your colleague also has a Copy the request button to send to the client's owner.
Turn the morning emails into one
With more than one client you see the card One message instead of one per client. Press Send me one message and a single email covers every client each morning; Go back to one per client undoes it. The alerts themselves stay on each client's own screen.
