Know how a client reaches you
The board has no "add client" button, because a firm cannot open anyone's books by itself. Access is the client's decision: they invite you from their books and choose the businesses and permissions. Send them the steps below.
- Client invites
- Link arrives
- You sign in
- On your board
The client adds your email
In their books the client opens Businesses & people, then the People tab, and presses Add a person. They enter your email, tick the businesses you may open, set the role to Accountant, review the Permissions and press Add.
Every invited email takes a seat from the client's subscription, whatever the role. If the seats have run out, the client sees Add seats instead of being able to invite.
Open the link and sign in
The link reaches you by email, and the client can also hand it to you through Issue an invitation link. It works once and ends after 14 days. Open it and sign in with your Basmtak HR account or a Basmtak Books account, or set a password if you have neither.
Link expired or lost? Ask the client to send it again from your row on the People tab.
Check that the client appears
Once you are in, the client appears under Clients with the rest, at the access they granted. The Accountant role starts with View, Post, Approve, Close periods, File VAT and Manage banks, and the client can reduce that at any time.
The referral link on the Commission statement is something else: it records that your firm brought the business, but it does not open its books. Access still comes from the invitation.
