What it does

Integrations and the API

API keys

A key per system with read or write scope, revocable at any time, with a request budget per key rather than per address.

Signed webhooks

Invoice created and issued, credit note, receipt, supplier bill, new contact — delivered to your system signed with HMAC and redelivered if they stumble.

Payment gateways

Tap and PayTabs with your own keys; a payment link on the invoice, the receipt created at payment, and the payout matched against the bank.

The customer portal

A link sent by email opens your customer's invoices and statement, with the PDF and XML to download.

Basmtak HR

Sign in with the same HR account, the approved payroll run arrives as a posted journal, and branches and departments become cost centres.

Migration from your previous system

A live pull where the source offers an API, and by file from the rest, Excel included: chart of accounts, contacts, items and opening balances, with a preview and an undo.

The iPhone and iPad app

The same books, not a copy: open it by scanning a QR from the screen, then issue an invoice, photograph an expense or read a report from your pocket.

How it flows

Connecting an external system

Four steps for your developer, and nothing for you.

  1. Create a key

    From Settings, with read or write scope.

  2. Subscribe to events

    An address that receives every event you choose.

  3. Verify the signature

    Every message carries an HMAC signature and a timestamp.

  4. Write and read

    Invoices, contacts and journals through the API, under the same rules that govern the screen.

Where it stops today

We write down what we have not built yet, so you do not discover it after subscribing.

  • The API and webhooks are not in every plan; the pricing page shows which.
  • Webhook events available today: invoice created and issued, credit note, receipt, supplier bill and contact. The ZATCA clearance event is coming.
  • The app is on iPhone and iPad today; on any other device the whole product opens in the browser.

Integrations and the API

Do I need a developer to use the API?

Yes, if you want to connect your own system. Payment gateways, HR, migration and the app are switched on from Settings without a line of code.

Does my customers' money pass through you?

No. The gateway is your own Tap or PayTabs account and the amount is deposited with you directly. We only create the receipt and match the payout.

Is the app a cut-down version of the product?

No, it is the same books with the same permissions: what you issue from the phone appears on screen at the same moment, and the other way round.
