Exactly where we stand on e-invoicing
- Phase 1 (generation): working and in use — QR code, hash chain, tax and simplified invoices, and an Arabic-first document.
- Phase 2 (integration): fully built inside Basmtak — UBL 2.1 generation, the canonical hash, XAdES signing, the phase-2 QR, clearance or reporting submission, and the archive — with no third-party unit.
- But: onboarding on ZATCA's live gateway has not completed, so no production certificate has been issued to date. We do not count it as proven, and we will not say that it is until a real invoice has cleared.
- A standard tax invoice is not sent to the buyer before it clears, because it is not a valid invoice until then. A simplified invoice is never held — the customer has it at the till and it is reported afterwards.
