Close the month for several clients from one screen

A checklist read mostly from the books, then posting and closing for several clients at once, with a result per client.

Open the client's checklist

In Clients pick the month under Close month, then press the figure in the client's Month end column, such as 3/8. The checklist opens, and each item has an Open button that takes you to the screen that deals with it in that client's books.

See what is computed and what you tick

Most items are read from the books and cannot be ticked: no drafts, every bank line matched, banks reconciled, period closed. Stock count, depreciation and payroll appear only for a client they apply to.
Only two items are ticked by hand, because no system can see them: VAT return filed and Month reviewed. The name and date of whoever confirmed them are recorded.

Add your firm's own steps if you need them

Tick the clients, press Add a firm step, type the Step name and, if you wish, set a Due day. It is a day from 1 to 28 of the month after the one being closed, because that is when the work is done. Each client can hold up to 12 such steps, ticked by hand.

Run an action on several clients

Tick the clients and the action bar appears.
  1. Post the drafts (number 1): posts draft journals dated inside the month.
  2. Run on the chosen clients (number 2): choose from the list beside it Post depreciation, Raise recurring entries, Prepare the VAT return (no filing), Lock the month or one of the two ticks.
  3. Close the month (number 3): closes the month's period for those chosen.
Lock the month goes further than closing: it closes the month if it is open and then locks it for good. Check the month shown on the bar before you run it.

Read the result for each client

One line appears per client: a tick for what worked, a cross with the reason for what was refused. Each client runs on its own, so one refusal does not undo another client's result. Permission is checked per client too, so a client who did not grant you Close periods refuses only that close. One run can take up to 100 clients.
Bulk actions never send a document to anyone or move money. Preparing the VAT return computes its figures without filing it with ZATCA.
