Basmtak Books
Saudi accounting · Arabic first

Your books, right from the first month

Basmtak Books is full accounting for Saudi businesses: e-invoicing, purchases, banking, inventory and assemblies, cost centres, and reports that read in Arabic and English and open onto the journal entry itself. And if you run Basmtak HR, the payroll journal arrives already posted — nothing to type.

Double entry, balanced at the database level

Seven things you feel in the first month

Not a feature list. These are the places an accountant actually hurts in other software.

Payroll arrives posted, not typed

If you are on Basmtak HR, an approved payroll run creates the accrual, the GOSI share and the payment entry in your books — split across branches and departments — and every journal is tied to its source, so it can never be posted twice.

This one is for Basmtak HR customers. The rest of the product works fully without it.

E-invoicing from inside the product

Phase 1 works from your first invoice: QR code, hash chain, tax and simplified invoices, and a printed document in Arabic and English. Phase 2 is built inside Basmtak itself — UBL 2.1, signing, submission and archive — with no third-party unit in the middle.

Phase-2 onboarding on ZATCA's live gateway has not completed yet. The invoicing page says exactly where that stands.

Inventory and assemblies are included

Warehouses, a stock move behind every document line, FIFO or weighted-average cost, counts and adjustments, bills of material and build orders through work in progress, and kits that explode into components when sold. No add-on, no extra price.

Bank reconciliation with rules

Import the statement by paste or CSV in Arabic or English headers, match automatically with rules you write once, create the journal from the line that matched nothing, and close the reconciliation at a zero difference.

No direct bank feeds yet — import only.

Reports open onto the entry

From the income statement to that account's ledger, and from the ledger line to the journal itself. Every report bilingual, for any period, exportable as CSV.

More than one currency, books in riyals

Sell in dollars and keep the books in riyals: a rate stamped on every document, realised differences at settlement, and a month-end revaluation of monetary items that reverses the next morning.

Cost centres for branch, department and project

One dimension on journal lines, document lines and the documents themselves, rolled up through a parent, with profit per centre that reconciles to the income statement. Basmtak HR's own branches and departments can become centres by themselves.

Honestly

And what is not finished

You should know before you pay. These are the real limits today:

  • Phase-2 e-invoicing onboarding on ZATCA's live gateway has not completed. The code is built and tested, but no production certificate has been issued on the real gateway yet.
  • There are no direct bank feeds: statements arrive by paste or file.
  • Opening balances are not pulled from Qoyod over its API — they are uploaded as a file. Zoho, Xero, QuickBooks and Odoo are file import only.
  • Reports export as CSV. Server-side PDF is for documents (invoices and bills), not for reports.

One price per business
