This feature comes with certain plans. If it is not in your menu, it is not in your business's plan.
Open the setting
Open Alerts, then Settings and logs, and scroll to the Reminding customers about overdue invoices card. Only someone who administers the account can change it, and others can only read it.
Turn it on and set it up
Tick Send customer reminders, as it stays off until you turn it on. Then:
- Choose your Reminder channels: Email, and WhatsApp if you connected it in Settings.
- Enter the days under Reminder steps (days past due), such as 7, 21, 45.
- If you like, add a Reply-to address (optional) and an extra line for the end of the note.
How the steps work
One note goes out at each step, and never more than one per invoice per day. If you turn this on with an old invoice on your books, the customer does not get a burst of notes, just one for the highest step it has reached.
- Due date
- After 7 days
- After 21 days
- After 45 days
Review what was sent
At the end of the screen, the Reminders sent card lists each invoice with its address, date, step and status. If an email bounced the reason shows there, and you also get a Reminder never reached the customer alert. Correct the customer's email on their record so the next step can reach them.
The note reaches your customer in your business's name. Check their email, and make sure your invoices and payments are recorded before turning this on, so you do not chase a customer who has paid.
