Know when a voucher is the right tool
Use this voucher for money with no invoice behind it: an expense, other income, an owner's drawing, a loan. Collecting a customer's invoice or paying a supplier's bill has its own screen in Sales and Purchases, because that applies the amount to the invoices.
Open the voucher from the account
Open the bank or cash account the money moved through, press New transaction and choose Payment voucher or Receipt voucher.
Fill it in and post it
Pick a party in Paid to (1) or Received from, which is optional, or press Type a name instead. On each line (2) choose the Account, enter the Amount excl. VAT and choose the Tax. If the amount you have already includes VAT, tick Amounts entered include VAT. Check the total and press Save & post (3).
| Account | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | 1,000.00 | |
| Input VAT | 150.00 | |
| Bank | 1,150.00 |
Vouchers are available for riyal accounts only for now. The VAT you choose on a voucher goes into your VAT return.
Print it or find it later
All vouchers are on the Vouchers tab of the Banking page, and you can filter them by account, type, status and date. Open one and press Print to get it on your letterhead with signature lines.
Void a wrong voucher
A posted voucher cannot be edited. Open it, press Void voucher and enter the Void date and Reason. The entry is reversed on that date and the voucher stays on record as Void. Then create a correct one.
A voucher matched to a bank statement line cannot be voided until you unmatch it.
