Photograph the receipt
Tap the Capture tab in the middle of the bottom bar, then Photograph the receipt. Get the whole receipt in frame in good light, or pick an existing image with From photos. The first time, the app asks for camera access.
Let the app read it, if the button shows
If Read the receipt appears after the photo, press it. The app creates a Draft supplier bill and opens it. Nothing posts until you have reviewed it: check the supplier, lines and amounts, then press Approve. If that invoice is already in your books, you are told That invoice is already recorded.
This button depends on the bill-reading feature. If it does not show, carry on with the next step by hand and the photo is still kept with the expense.
Or record it as a paid expense
For a receipt paid on the spot, fill in the form:
- Amount before VAT
- Supplier
- Expense account
- Paid from: the cash or bank account
- The tax rate
- Reference if there is one
Save
Press Save. The supplier bill and its payment are recorded together and the photo is attached to the bill, so either all of it is saved or none of it is. You see Expense recorded with its photo.
| Account | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Expense account | 100.00 | |
| Input VAT | 15.00 | |
| Cash or bank | 115.00 |
Could not save? The app states the reason in words, such as the date falling in a closed period.
