Check whether your account is already there
Choose Banking in the side menu (1). Any account in your chart whose subtype is Bank or Cash appears here by itself, as a card with Edit (2) and Statement (3). If your account already has a card, go to step 3.
The Bank account button at the top links a chart account that has not appeared yet. Because accounts appear by themselves it will usually offer nothing, so start from the chart of accounts.
Create it in the chart of accounts
Open Chart of accounts from the side menu and press New account. Type the name, choose the Parent (1), which is Banks in the ready-made chart, then choose the Subtype (2): Bank for a bank account or Cash for a cash box. The code is suggested for you. Press Save.
If you work in more than one currency, a Currency field appears here. The bank account takes its currency from this choice, not from the Banking page.
Complete the card
Go back to Banking and press Edit on the account's card. Change the Name if you like, choose the Kind, fill in Bank and IBAN, then press Save.
Read the card
Ledger balance is what your entries say about the account. It can differ from what the bank really holds until you match the statement. The badge tells you whether unmatched lines remain, and Statement lists everything that went through the account with a running balance, ready to print.
