Connect your own merchant account with a payment provider and a pay button appears on the invoice link. The money goes straight to your account with the provider, Books records the receipt automatically in a clearing account, and you match the payout when it reaches the bank. Tap, Moyasar, HyperPay and PayTabs are available. Tap is the one run against a real account; for the others the screen asks you to try test mode first.
Before you start
- A merchant account with the provider you choose.
- Online payments depend on your subscription plan, and show for someone who administers the business.
Setting it up
Choose the provider
Open Settings, scroll to the Online payments card and pick the provider from the tiles. Steps for that provider appear, with where to find its keys in its dashboard.
Enter the keys and save
Pick the Mode that matches your keys, Test or Live, paste the keys and press Save and connect. They are stored encrypted and never shown again. Press Test the connection to confirm, and the status turns to Connected.
Set the webhook URL
Copy the Webhook URL from the card and paste it into the provider's dashboard so confirmations arrive at once. Payments still work without it, a few minutes later.
Try a payment
Issue an invoice and open its link, and the pay button is there. After payment the attempt shows under Recent attempts as Paid and the receipt is recorded.
| Account | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|
| Clearing account | 1,150.00 | |
| Receivables | 1,150.00 |
Payments land in the Clearing account rather than the bank, because the processor pays out in batches net of its fee. Match the payout against this account when it arrives.
What moves across
- Books to the provider: a payment request for the invoice amount when the customer opens the link.
- Provider to Books: the payment result, then an automatic receipt on the invoice.
- The money does not pass through Basmtak: it goes straight to your account with the provider.
Troubleshooting
The screen refused the key
Make sure it is the secret key rather than the public one, and that the Mode matches: a test key with Test, a live key with Live.
The status says Paid, not recorded
The money arrived but the receipt is not recorded yet. Open the invoice, and if something blocks it, such as a closed period, deal with the cause or contact support.
The pay button does not show
Check that the status is Connected and that the invoice is issued with a balance. Disconnecting removes the button from links at once.
